Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery Hartford

Outstanding opportunity to join a national leader in Neurosurgery. The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare has a new opportunity available for a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant/APRN to join our Advanced Practice team at Hartford Hospital located in Hartford, CT.

 

Practice autonomously, but collaboratively, with a team of attending neurosurgeons and APPs providing advanced specialized care to neurosurgical patients including open spine, MIS spine and deformity, intracranial cases, neurovascular, peripheral nerve, neurotrauma, and neuro-interventional radiological cases.

 

Enjoy a robust onboarding experience with an established, supportive process with frequent opportunities for training and education modalities at HHC’s Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI).

 

This role will assist in providing 24/7 coverage on the inpatient side of neurosurgery including weekdays (day & night shifts), weekends (day & night shifts), and holidays. Excellent time off opportunities and flexible schedule while maintaining 24/7 coverage.

 

Job details:

·            Managing neurosurgical brain and spine patients on the floor, stepdown, and ICU settings.

·            Intake H&Ps, progress notes, consultations, pre- and post-operative care, and discharges. 

·            Providing neurosurgical consultations in the hospital and in the emergency department.

·            Performing bedside procedures: external ventricular drains, ICP monitors, lumbar drains, shunt taps.

·            First assisting the attending neurosurgeon in the operating room in brain and spine surgeries.

·            Shifts total 3 13-hour shifts per week.
