The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is an Advanced Practitioner that helps with all aspects of patient care, including consultation, diagnosis, and treatment. Working in collaboration with physician lead, the advanced practitioner is responsible for providing quality care to patients within the Urogynecology practice (the practice of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery; FPMRS). 

The AP will provide care in the treatment and management of female urinary disorders, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapses, and other female pelvic disorders. 

The AP will work primarily in an outpatient setting but may require providing service in an inpatient area. 

Covered areas could include:  Any one of our 8 current practices, or future sites. However, we are seeking a provider for our Central Region and Hartford Region sites – Enfield, Hartford, and Glastonbury. We try to limit each provider to 3 sites for optimal continuity of care.

Shift: 32 hours but will consider 40 hours /Salaried


Advanced Practitioner Qualifications 

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program mandatory
  • Licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
  • Certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Clinical Skills for Urogynecology Advanced Practitioner

  • Evaluation, treatment, and management of urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, urinary retention, urinary tract infection, interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, painful intercourse, fecal incontinence, or defecatory dysfunction.
  • Admission orders
  • Catheterization of the bladder, bladder irrigations, installations
  • Cystoscopy in office setting (possibly)
  • Discharge orders
  • Self- care instructions or develop individualized plan of care
